Zhangjiagang secures 32 projects in Shenzhen

The port city of Zhangjiagang in East China's Jiangsu province signed agreements for a total of 32 industrial projects with a total investment of 40.5 billion yuan ($6.36 billion) at a conference held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province on May 26.

 

The conference, entitled "The Zhangjiagang (Shenzhen) Cooperation and Exchange Conference on Innovation and Development", was attended by a number of government officials and enterprise representatives from Zhangjiagang and Shenzhen.

 

Pan Guoqiang, Party secretary of Zhangjiagang, said that Shenzhen is positioned at the core of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and has been committed to innovation-driven development over the past few decades. The city has made remarkable progress in social and economic development, and Pan said that Zhangjiagang is now accelerating the process of integrating with the Yangtze River Delta. He said that the city will adhere to the "Shenzhen Spirit" in its pursuit of high-quality development.

 

In recent years, a number of well-known enterprises from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao have invested in Zhangjiagang, bringing in a total of 75 billion yuan ($11.78 billion) in investment. The city has become a popular investment destination for global investors.

 

Han Wei, mayor of Zhangjiagang, said at the conference that the city will seize national strategic opportunities to boost innovation and build its "Innovative Zhangjiagang" brand to promote the development of new forms of business.
