The launching ceremony of the Southern Jiangsu Branch of the Shanghai Yangtze River Delta Innovative High-tech Enterprise Service Center was held in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province on May 6.
The center will be located in the county-level city of Zhangjiagang. It is expected to help more than 10 enterprises go public on the STAR Market by 2023, as well as cultivate or introduce 100 to 200 scientific and technological innovation enterprises by 2025.
Officials noted that the center will better serve the southern part of Jiangsu province. In conjunction with professional institutions, the center will establish a joint working mechanism with the Shanghai Stock Exchange to provide equity financing, IPOs, and other services for innovative high-tech enterprises.
The Yangtze River Delta region is one of the areas in the country with the most scientific and technological resources. It has also gathered a number of innovative enterprises and industrial clusters with strong international competitiveness in areas like electronic information, biological medicine, high-end equipment, new energy resources, as well as new materials, said Tao Changsheng, chief economist of the Shanghai Local Financial Supervision Bureau.
Tao added that Shanghai and Suzhou will work together to promote the deep integration of finance and technology to enhance Suzhou's innovation vitality.
Local authorities said that the center will cooperate with local governments to carry out information consultation, industrial cooperation, and other services. The center will share high-end platforms and capital to provide Suzhou regional innovative high-tech enterprises with full-process listing services. An ecosystem for the cultivation of these enterprises to log on the STAR Market will also add strong development momentum to the region.
