The Changyinsha Modern Agricultural Demonstration Area in Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province has explored ways of developing a digital countryside strategy in recent years, and this has helped boost the transformation and upgrading of traditional agriculture, local news reported on April 26.
"With the help of big data processing, including precise images taken by satellites, measurement of fields and chemical fertilizer, we can make more accurate output forecasts and help generate more profits," according to a local farmer.
The Changyinsha area has launched an agricultural public service platform covering different application scenarios related to smart agriculture. This platform provides detailed information related to of farming activities and enables the sharing, exchange and analysis of real-time data.
A special app was also launched to guide farming activities in Changyinsha. Because of satellite remote sensing technology, the app can provide local farmers with accurate information of agricultural condition and help them better carry out farming activities.
Additionally, the area has cooperated with a local agricultural cooperative and established a marketing platform. Customers can learn more about the agricultural products, including the production process and the producers, by scanning QR codes on the products.
