Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province has explored its own ways to boost its rural development in recent years, with the average disposable income of its villages reaching 12.49 million yuan ($1.94 million) in 2020, according to a local news report.

Focusing on the balanced development of industrialization and urbanization, the city launched a new development pattern by integrating villages and enterprises.

The city's Yonglian village cooperated with Jiangsu Yonggang Group, and set up a management model featuring joint contributions and shared benefits. Yonggang Group offered 25 percent of its share to the village, as well as leverage its advantages in capital, talent, and industry to help the village comprehensively push forward rural revitalization and accelerate the modernization of agriculture.

Zhangjiagang also adopted innovative measures to accelerate growth in modern agriculture. Shangang village in Yangshe town cooperated with the country's leading agriculture colleges and universities to set up a complete marketing system, including agricultural product processing, packaging, delivery, as well as after-sales service, which have helped boost its featured agricultural industries and increase farmers' incomes.
