The Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge, which starts from Nantong and enters Shanghai through Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, began operating on July 1, 2020. That same day, Zhangjiagang Railway Station opened to the public, bringing new development opportunities to Zhangjiagang, local news reported on April 21.

Zhangjiagang, a port city along the Yangtze River, boasts a strategic location and strong industrial foundation. The Zhangjiagang Port, one of the largest international trade ports along the Yangtze River, has more than 40 container routes and has carried out trade with more than 320 ports in over 90 countries.

With the opening of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge, the city's Zhangjiagang High-tech Industrial Development Zone has implemented favorable policies to attract more investment, aiming to inject strong momentum into the zone's high-quality development.

"The zone has ramped up efforts to promote the development of several key industries, such as digital economy, high-end equipment, smart manufacturing, biomedicine, and high-end textiles. At the same time, efforts have also been made to attract investment and introduce high-quality projects," according to an official of the zone.

Statistics show that since this year, a total of five industrial projects, valued at 3 billion yuan ($464.71 million), have settled in the zone, including two key projects, each with an investment of more than 1 billion yuan, as well as two foreign-invested projects, all of which will promote the high-quality development of the zone.
