Zhangjiagang secures 22 medicine projects worth 7.08b yuan

The county-level city of Zhangjiagang in East China's Jiangsu province inked agreements for 22 projects involved in the medicine industry and receiving a combined investment of 7.08 billion yuan ($1.08 billion) on April 13.

 

The projects will help Zhangjiagang foster a complete industrial chain for high-end and new medical devices and improve the high-quality development of the city's medical device industry.

 

Pan Guoqiang, Party chief of Zhangjiagang city, addressed the signing ceremony, saying that as one of the country's strategic emerging industries, the medicine industry has received strong support from governments at all levels. He said that the city has been focusing on its high-quality development in recent years, with a number of key industrial parks having been built to help the city create a complete development system for the medicine industry.

 

Pan added that the Yangtze Metallurgical Industrial Park in Zhangjiagang, a hub for orthopedic medical instruments in China, has introduced and cultivated a number of leading domestic medical device enterprises. The park will continue to optimize its business environment in an effort to build itself into a highland for the development of the medical device industry.
