The Zhangjiagang Nucleic Acid Testing Base was completed on schedule and passed the local government's inspection, according to a local news report.

The testing base, which is the first of its kind in the county-level city, is located on the third floor of the Science and Education Building of Zhangjiagang First People's Hospital. It is equipped with advanced testing systems and was designed in accordance with the standards of a biosafety level 2 laboratory, or P2 laboratory.

Hospital authorities said that the testing base consists of five specific areas, all of which meet the requirements of protection, isolation, and elimination. The daily nucleic acid testing capacity of the base is expected to reach 10,000 in ordinary times, which will expand to 30,000 in emergency situations.

Local authorities said that the base will provide support for Zhangjiagang in its public health emergency responses.
