Zhangjiagang in Suzhou, Jiangsu province was included on a list of provincial demonstration zones for integrated tourism, according to a notice released by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism on Jan 6.

Integrated tourism demonstration zones are a new concept and model for promoting the development of regional tourism that are meant to integrate regional resources and boost economic development.

Zhangjiagang, a port city along the Yangtze River, has a total area of 986.73 square kilometers and a population of 1.26 million.

It is rich in cultural and tourism attractions and has many historical and cultural heritage items, including Dongshan Village Site and Huang Sipu Relic Park, as well as beautiful scenic spots such as the Zhangjiagang Fenghuang Mountain Scenic Area and Zhangjiagang Bay.

Zhangjiagang has been committed to building a national tourism demonstration area in recent years, and has strengthened construction of a regional tourism distribution center and big data center for smart tourism. It has also fostered new driving forces for the integrated development of culture, sports, and tourism.
