The port city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province hosted a cooperation meeting in Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong province Dec 15, aiming to enhance communication and deepen industrial cooperation between the two cities.

Pan Guoqiang, Party secretary of Zhangjiagang, said that Shenzhen was the window and experimental field for China's reform and opening-up, and this year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.

Over recent years, Shenzhen and Zhangjiagang have achieved remarkable progress in economic and trade cooperation, and the latter has become an important springboard for Shenzhen to deploy high-quality resources in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region, according to Pan.

He added that Zhangjiagang is accelerating its integration with the YRD, and efforts have also been made to promote the integrated development of industrial and supply chains, in an effort to pursue high-quality development in the city.

Pan also expressed hope that more Shenzhen enterprises can invest in Zhangjiagang.

The Shenzhen-Zhangjiagang Innovation Center was unveiled at the meeting, which will offer a platform for Shenzhen entrepreneurs to better understand Zhangjiagang.

Additionally, 21 projects valued at 17.2 billion yuan ($2.63 billion) were signed during the cooperation meeting.
