The 2020 China (Zhangjiagang) Yangtze River Culture and Art Festival concluded in the port city of Zhangjiagang, East China's Jiangsu province, on Nov 16, local media reported.
The festival, which was launched in 2004 by the Zhangjiagang government, has become a cultural feast of songs, dances, instrumental performances, recitals, and operas from 12 provinces and cities along the Yangtze River.
This year's event, highlighting the integration and high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region, featured the tagline "promoting Yangtze River culture and building a moderately prosperous society". It served as a platform for YRD provinces and cities to interact and communicate.
The 2020 China (Zhangjiagang) Business Week was also held during the event. It was attended by a large number of government officials and enterprise representatives, who discussed plans to develop and cooperate in sectors such as new energy resources, new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, biological medicine, and the digital economy.
Han Wei, deputy Party secretary and acting mayor of Zhangjiagang, said that it is important to preserve the culture of the Yangtze River and Yangtze River Basin.
Han added that the Zhangjiagang government will work with YRD provinces and cities to promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
