The port city of Zhangjiagang in East China's Jiangsu province held a promotional activity in Shanghai on Oct 18 in an effort to attract investment, local media reported.

Zhangjiagang will deepen cooperation with Shanghai in the cultural and tourism sectors, and more Zhangjiagang cultural items will be promoted in Shanghai, including Xiju Opera and Pingtan, in order to enhance the city's cultural influence, according to a statement during a signing ceremony at the event.

The event will run for two days and end on Oct 20, featuring four theme activities. Several scenic areas in Zhangjiagang will hold promotions at the event, including Yonglian town and the Xiangshan Mountain scenic area. Many intangible cultural heritage items and cultural and creative products will be showcased as well.

Local authorities have said that the event will help further integrate Zhangjiagang with Shanghai and the rapidly developing Yangtze River Delta.
