Jinfeng town in the port city of Zhangjiagang, East China's Jiangsu province, has fully exploited its characteristic rural resources to boost the construction of a beautiful countryside, according to a local news report Oct 9.

Featured agricultural projects in high-profit industries, such as aquaculture and kiwi fruit planting, have been developed in Jinfeng. The town has also renovated its roads and beautified its environment, with the aim of promoting the construction of a new countryside.

Leisure agriculture and rural tourism have also been promoted by integrating the town's rich industrial resources, and its own tourism brand has been built, making the village a hot destination for tourists and residents of nearby towns.

Local authorities said that in recent years, about 130 million yuan ($19.44 million) has been used to restore the environment alongside the rivers in Jinfeng town, establish a wetland park, green the banks along the waterways, protect biodiversity and restore water sources. More than 50 sports areas have been built, including basketball courts, tennis courts and amusement parks for children, aiming to improve people's lifestyles.
