Three projects receiving a combined investment of 4.5 billion yuan ($658.8 million) were established in the Zhangjiagang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jiangsu province, on Aug 28, which will help the city form a complete industrial chain, according to a local media report.
One of the projects has received 3 billion yuan in investment from Jiangsu Fanrun Electronics Company and will produce liquid crystal display modules.
According to the agreements, Fanrun will build 10 production lines in Zhangjiagang, and the first phase is scheduled to begin by the end of this year. The production center is expected to generate 10 billion yuan in revenue per year.
Pan Guoqiang, Party secretary of Zhangjiagang, said that the city is strengthening efforts to establish a complete industrial chain in order to accelerate its integration with the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region. Fanrun will promote the high-quality development of the city's opto-electronics industry and improve regional collaboration between Zhangjiagang and the other YRD cities.
Pan added that Zhangjiagang will continue to improve its business environment in order to make it easier to open and operate a business.
