The county-level city of Zhangjiagang in East China's Jiangsu province will help Yanhe Tujia autonomous county of Tongren, Guizhou province boost its poverty alleviation achievements and promote rural revitalization, according to a news conference held in Zhangjiagang on Aug 15.

Both sides also signed a cooperation agreement framework, as well as agreed to make joint efforts to implement a partner support mechanism between the west and east regions.

Industries with local characteristics will be developed, aiming to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional agriculture. Zhangjiagang will help Yanhe improve its business environment in an effort to attract more investment.

Both sides will also make efforts to protect Yanhe's cultural relics, historic sites, and traditional villages to accelerate the development of the county's rural tourism.

The cooperation agreement noted that Zhangjiagang will help Yanhe explore its unique path to prosperity, advance its economic transformations, and realize high-quality development.

According to Zhangjiagang authorities, the city has launched 185 projects related to improving people's livelihoods and promoting Yanhe's industrial development since 2016. Zhangjiagang has sent 141 technicians to Yanhe and provided professional services in the areas of medical care, education, and agriculture, leading to a continuous decrease in Yanhe's poverty incidence rate.
