Due to the targeted poverty alleviation efforts offered by Zhangjiagang in East China's Jiangsu province, Gongliu, a county in Xinjiang Tygur autonomous region, has seen remarkable progress in the development of its local industries, according to a local news report on Aug 4.

"Poverty alleviation through the boosting of Xinjiang's industrial development has changed the lives of many residents in the small county," said a local resident of Gongliu who now holds a regular job with stable income at a factory that produces medical supplies.
