Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, is making efforts to improve its government services, according to a local news report on June 12.

The city's administrative examination and approval bureau adopted a series of innovative measures to accelerate approval procedures and upgrade service models, seeking to deliver more tangible benefits to locals.

Regular training courses were organized to improve service levels, and authorities also released codes of conduct for better services, according to Lu Qing, an official of the bureau.

The bureau also established a high-efficiency complaint handling system, providing professional support to the public.

Authorities said that they will further speed up the reform of administrative examination and approval procedures and promote "internet plus" government services.

Matters that do require presence in person should be processed at a single window, within a specified time, and without the need for a second visit.
