Zhangjiagang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has doubled down on its efforts to speed up the recovery of economic activities in the post-epidemic period, according to a news report June 3.
A total of 14 projects valued at about 100 million yuan ($14.15 million) have been put into operation at full capacity, and innovative measures have been rolled out to attract foreign investment.
The zone has sped up the implementation of several major foreign investment projects related to Polaroid, cranes and automobile chassis.
Upholding the development principle "technological innovation provides an inexhaustible driving force for social development", the city pursues innovation and seizes development opportunities, which helps it to attract more high-end projects and talents in 5G and artificial intelligence.
It also arranged funding of 3 billion yuan to advance infrastructure construction, including renovating roads and bridges, completing sewage pipe networks and upgrading ecological corridors.
Some characteristic cultural blocks will be set up in the zone to promote its living environment and tourism brand. The project, which is expected to be completed in September, will expand the zone's cultural connotations.
