Shagang Group's efforts to promote its products into global market are paying off, as a railway bridge project, which is under construction over the Suez Canal, adapted the steel plate made by Shagang.

The 640-meter long bridge in Ismailia, Egypt, cross the Suez Cana, will become an important transportation hub between Asia and Africa and also play a key role in promoting the economic development of the two areas.

The project has a high requirement for steel plate, due to local's hot and dry climate.

The steel plate of Shagang Group enjoys good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, with maximum thickness only 100 millimeters.

According to the construction plan, the bridge is designed to use a total of 14,000 tons of steel, among which 10,200 tons are from Shagang Group.

In recent years, Shagang is striving to adjust product structure and promoting the research and development of new product. The cooperation with Egypt is a further step for the group to expanding its global footprint.
