Xue Yongqi

Xue Yongqi(薛永祺), an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was born in 1937 in the city of Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province.

Professor Xue is engaged in multispectral and imaging spectrum technology research. He has developed a variety of advanced remote sensing methods to establish an airborne practical remote sensing system.

In his lifetime, he has successfully developed the multispectral scanner, imaging spectrometer and hyper-spectral imager, which have contributed to environmental pollution monitoring.

In 1999, he was elected to be a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
