Have a date with lavender in Zhangjiagang

The first Zhangjiagang lavender tourism festival is to start in Jingeng town, Zhangjiagang, East China's Jiangsu province on May 19.

Local residents have the chance to enjoy the splendid purple sea of flowers at the city's Xiangcao Garden without going far to the Provence in France.

The garden boasts a flower sea of 12 hectares. Every May, lavender, verbena, rose and orchid in the field are in full bloom offering tourists a colorful fairyland.

How to get there:

1. Take bus No 218 or 228 to Century Square, transfer bus No 223 to Nanxiaoli, and walk about 550 meters along Gangfeng Road to the destination.

2. Take bus No 203 to Jinxiuhuayuan or take bus No 205 to Chengbei New town, transfer No 223 to Nanxioli and walk about 550 meters along Gangfeng Road to the destination.
