Honeywell, an industry leader in wireless and scanning technologies used in home, building and industrial applications, announced it will set up a catalyst production base in Zhangjiagang on May 23.
In October 2014, Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies Co set its first solely-invested production base in the city with an annual catalyst output of 5,700 tons of molecular sieve and 2,000 tons of propane dehydrogenation.
The new catalyst project has an investment of $100 million and is expected to finish in 2017. This kind of catalyst realizes an efficient transformation process that turns methyl alcohol into ethylene and propylene, which are raw materials used to create plastics.
Yao Ronglin, Zhangjiagang Party secretary, attended the project unveiling ceremony and expressed his warm welcome. He said the industrial advantages of the bonded zone will lay solid foundations in the cooperation with Honeywell and lead to win-win outcomes.
Li Beikai, UOP president and CEO of Honeywell, outlined the background of the catalyst project. He appreciated the business environment here in Zhangjiagang and promised to take advantage of the new project to contribute to local economic development.
