Huang Qiao, a 35-year-old manager of a small factory in Tangqiao town, has made earnest efforts to promote public welfare since 2009.

Huang became a member of the Zhangjiagang public welfare website in 2009 and has served warmheartedly as a volunteer.

In Jan 2010, she engaged in an activity to offer one-on-one services for poor students. Through the activity she met Xiaomin, a primary student in Fenghuang town. Since then, Huang has offered aid to her both economically and spiritually. She considers Xiaomin a part of her family. Whenever there is a holiday, Huang will take Xiaomin to her home.

Huang has spent most of her leisure time participating in volunteer activities. She acts as a guide for those who are invisible and often does house cleaning for seniors who live alone.

“I’m so glad to be a volunteer, helping others will benefit yourself as well,” said Huang.
