In Wuxi, the internet of things is the largest industrial cluster. By 2025, the total scale of the IoT industry is expected to exceed 450 billion yuan ($63.14 billion), leading Jiangsu province and ranking among the top nationally. The city is currently home to over 3,500 enterprises across the industrial chain, including 60 national-level "little giant" firms and 83 listed companies.

Currently, Wuxi is focusing on three main areas – smart sensors, vehicle-to-everything (V2X), and industrial internet – to continuously consolidate an industrial development pattern with the Xinwu district as the core and Xishan district, the Wuxi Economic Development District, and Binhu district as the key. Each district has its specific focus: Xinwu district primarily focuses on smart sensors and the industrial internet; Xishan district focuses on V2X; Binhu district focuses on information security; and WEDD focuses on intelligent connected vehicles and the industrial internet.
