The Hongshan Taibo Scenic Area is divided into two main sections: Wu Culture Square and the Tomb Area. It highlights the region's production, daily life, and folk cultural traditions of the Wu area from over 3,000 years ago through various physical exhibits. The scenic area features more than 20 sights, including Yangzhi Pavilion, the Imperial Stele Pavilion, and Yueya Pool, which date back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1911). Since 2006, it has been the venue for the annual China (Wuxi) Wu Culture Festival and Taibo Sacrificial Ceremony held on April 10.
On Dec 4, 2024, the Spring Festival, which is the Chinese people's traditional New Year celebration, was added to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The Taibo Temple Fair, a Spring Festival event in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, was also recognized and included among the celebrated practices.
