The Shanjuan Cave and bamboo forest scenic areas in Yixing, a county-level city in Wuxi, are currently being upgraded and will greet visitors with a new look before the National Day holiday, which starts on Oct 1.
Following the principles of clear sight, beautiful landscaping, and distinctive features, local authorities will redesign the areas surrounding Shanjuan Cave and Luohu Lake.

They will renovate the cableway, station buildings, tea houses, sightseeing platforms, footpaths, and some public restrooms in the Yixing bamboo forest scenic area. A splash pool will also be established in Jinghu Lake for visitors to play in the water.
Shanjuan Cave is a magnificent underground palace consisting of upper, middle, lower and water caves, which are all interconnected. There are many miraculous legends about the cave and a variety of hauntingly beautiful stalactites in various shapes.

The Yixing bamboo forest is a top choice among people who want to enjoy fresh air and leisure activities. The forest is a national 4A-level scenic spot covering 15,000 hectares and is known as China's No 1 bamboo forest. It has over 100 species of bamboos, including moso bamboo, sympodial bamboo and indocalamus.
