Wang Feilong from Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, and his partner Zhang Jiaqi claimed gold in the mixed synchronized 10m platform at the World Aquatics Championships on July 15.

Zhang, 19, a women's synchronized platform champion at the Tokyo Olympic Games, and 14-year-old Wang, won the first gold for diving at the tournament.

Wang started training in 2015 when he was seven, and in 2022 he was selected for the Chinese diving team.

At the National Diving Championship this year, which saw the participation of six Olympic champions and 13 world champions, the young athlete won third place in men's synchronized 10m platform and sixth place in men's individual all-around.
