The garden was built on Dongshan Mountain in 1912 by Rong Zongjing and Rong Desheng, brothers who were both national industrialists and businessmen. Covering the area with thousands of plum trees, the garden was named Plum Garden.
This famous site features one of the largest and most representative collections of Buddhism architecture and art in China.
Yuantouzhu Island, or "Turtle Head Isle," is a popular tourist resort on Taihu Lake. It is located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province and named after its unique topographic features: a land surrounded by water on three sides, resembling the head of a huge Asian giant softshell turtle stretching out of the water.
Since the lake looks like a gourd ladle, it was named Lihu Lake. The lake has another name of "Wuli".
Thise scenic area consists of three parts: the scenic area (including the Jichang Garden), the Xihui Park and the Entrance Park.
One of the most interesting tourist attractions here is the Wuxi Movie/TV production base, which is known as "Oriental Hollywood".
The scenic area is located in the south endern part of the central urban area of Wuxi. It is the intersection of two Y-shaped ancient rivers and two ancient streets along the rivers, with abundant historical relics and cultural landscapes.
The Xuelang Mountain Ecological and Scenic Garden, in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, opened a rafting resort, on Aug 7.
