Du Xiaogang, Party secretary of Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province, met with Yang Hongxia, executive dean of the Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Things at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in Wuxi on Sept 23.
Both parties agreed that in recent years, the collaboration between Wuxi and PolyU has achieved significant progress.
They expressed their willingness to utilize high-quality platforms, such as the PolyU-Wuxi Technology and Innovation Research Institute, to foster in-depth cooperation in areas including distributed intelligent algorithms, multi-agent collaboration and the integration of edge computing with AI.
Since 2021, the cooperation between Wuxi and PolyU has strengthened significantly. In 2022, Wuxi National High-tech District signed an agreement with the university to create the PolyU-Wuxi Technology and Innovation Research Institute.
This year, multiple initiatives including the Jiangsu Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce—PolyU (Wuxi) Science and Technology Innovation Center, the PolyU Jiangsu Alumni Network Wuxi Center, and a platform dedicated to AI talent development and social practice were launched. In August, the Wuxi-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation and Industrial Innovation Integration Development Conference took place, during which the PolyU-Wuxi Entrepreneurship Center was also inaugurated.
As of now, the PolyU-Wuxi Technology and Innovation Research Institute has partnered with companies such as Siemens, StorageX Technology, and LongShine Technology to jointly build laboratories and technology development platforms.
