Wanshou River Wetland Park in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, has successfully been included in Jiangsu's third batch of open and shared urban green spaces.
Covering around 68,000 square meters, it is now Wuxi's largest open and shared urban green space on the list.
This circular wetland park in Huishan district is linked to the nearby Xieyin River Wetland Park. It serves 15,000 residents and will also benefit the future tens of thousands of teachers and students at the upcoming Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications Wuxi Campus, which is currently under construction.
Under the early autumn sun, the Wanshou River's surface glimmers with ripples, bordered by lush green trees and a variety of flowers. The park features over 30 types of trees, including camphor, and more than 20 kinds of shrubs, creating a diverse landscape where towering trees and low shrubs work together.
The park is designed with visitor convenience in mind. A winding rainbow path meanders through the entire area, providing numerous seating spots for rest along the way. A newly built shaded parking lot offers 80 spaces, effectively easing parking issues. Additionally, the park features fitness facilities and sports fields, encouraging visitors to participate in exercise and recreation.
