Farmers from across East China's Jiangsu province gathered in Wuxi on Sept 23 for a festival celebrating a bountiful harvest and rich agricultural traditions.
The event, held in Yanjiaqiao village in Xishan district, became a lively marketplace of local flavors. Farmers showcased their regional specialties, offering a culinary journey that delighted the palates of residents and tourists alike.
Visitors could savor iconic local dishes, ranging from Nanjing boiled salted duck and Xuyi crayfish to the highly anticipated Hongze Lake hairy crabs.

Beyond the feast, the festival offered a full cultural experience. Attendees enjoyed performances with an agricultural twist, including Chinese crosstalk and sketches.
As the host city, Wuxi presented "lucky bags" to farmers and visitors. These gifts were filled with local snacks, souvenirs, and discount coupons for homestays and pet products.

The celebration is backed by a year of strong support. The province has implemented 107 measures in 2025, including subsidies, facility upgrades, and the adoption of advanced technologies.
These efforts have yielded impressive results. Summer grain output held steady at approximately 14.22 billion kilograms, and autumn crops are in even better condition than last year.
This success is directly benefiting rural communities. In the first half of the year, the per capita disposable income for rural residents saw a significant increase of 5.8 percent.
