Zhao Jianjun, mayor of Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province, led a delegation to Cambodia from May 20 to 24 for economic, trade, and cultural exchanges, further enhancing traditional cooperative relations between the two regions.
The Wuxi delegation first visited Sihanoukville Autonomous Port and Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone, Wuxi's key cooperative projects in Preah Sihanouk Province.
At Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, Zhao engaged in in-depth discussions with port officials, looking forward to enhancing cooperation to facilitate customs clearance, promote cost reduction, and efficiency improvement in logistics for enterprises in SSEZ.
During the Jiangsu Investment Enterprises in Southeast Asia Symposium held in SSEZ, Wuxi Mayor emphasized the city's focus on the five-year plan of SSEZ's development, supportive policies, and establishing a Wuxi enterprise service center in Cambodia. Efforts will be made to address issues in enterprise attraction, integrated services, logistics, and more, aiming to establish the special zone as a model area for China-Cambodia capacity cooperation.
Zhao also visited the Cambodian Investment Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia in Phnom Penh and held discussions with the Secretary-General Chea Vuthy.
Both sides discussed enhancing communication channels, expanding development opportunities, optimizing the investment environment, and assisting enterprises in reducing costs and increasing efficiency. They agreed to co-transform SSEZ into a more advanced, eco-friendly, and innovative park, attracting more Chinese companies willing and able to invest and establish a presence.
