China Newsweek magazine recently named Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province as the "City of Vitality" in 2024.
Being known as the "City of Vitality" is primarily exemplified by its profound cultural heritage, vigorous economy and innovation spirit, robust urban consumption patterns, pleasant natural environment, and continuous influx of skilled talents.

In recent years, Wuxi has intensified its efforts to protect cultural relics and fully use the Grand Canal, making its cultural and natural heritage part of locals' lives. Various cultural facilities have sprung up in Wuxi, and music-themed events have also frequently been held in the city. In the first half of this year, Wuxi introduced the city's first stores of over 140 brands.

The city has also continued to manage Taihu Lake and control the concentration of PM 2.5 and ozone, significantly improving the atmospheric and water environment.
Wuxi has also been rated as the best city in the country for attracting talents. The city's contribution rate of scientific and technological progress has led Jiangsu for 11 consecutive years. By 2023, Wuxi had been home to six national engineering technology research centers and authorized 11,750 patents for invention in 2023.
