Wuxi boasts beautiful natural environment

Aug 15 marks China's first National Ecology Day and Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province shows what the harmonious co-existence between man and nature can look like.

Its "crystalline sky" has become the city's most recognized namecard. As of the end of July, the average concentration of PM2.5 in the city was 26.7 micrograms per cubic meter, the lowest in Jiangsu; and the ratio of days with good air was 82.5 percent, the highest in the province.

In the first half of this year, the water quality of Taihu Lake reached the best level in the past 10 years. During the same period, the water quality of Taihu Lake in Wuxi was recorded as Class III in the country's five-tier water quality system.

Wuxi attracts large flocks of birds each year with vast stretches of wetlands. Currently, the city is home to 107,500 hectares of wetlands, including three national wetland parks, six provincial wetland parks and 30 wetland reserves.
