The 31st summer edition of the FISU World University Games is in full swing in Chengdu, Sichuan province and many elements of Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province can be found in the arena.
All the key equipment for the fencing matches, including judging apparatus and sword examining devices, comes from Wuxi Absolute Force Sports Equipment Co, which specializes in manufacturing fencing equipment and has been a designated supplier to many sports events such as the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The Phoenix Mountain Sports Park, one of the main venue of the games, uses artificial turf made by Wuxi-based Jiangsu Vivaturf Co, which has served clients from more than 90 countries and regions, to cover its training fields and competition areas.
In addition, three athletes born in Wuxi and four athletes trained in the city are attending the sports event on behalf of China in athletics, taekwondo, table tennis, badminton, and fencing.

The Chengdu FISU Games welcomes about 6,500 athletes from 113 countries and regions who compete for a total of 269 gold medals.
