As the opening guest of the honey peach season in the city, the extremely early-ripening variety of the Yangshan peach has recently become available. Golden yellow loquats have already hit the market. With juicy and rich pulp, loquats are a good option to quench one's thirst. Loquat lovers can visit the orchards in Anzhen town and Mashan subdistrict to pick the fruit themselves.

It is also time to eat waxberries. Mashan subdistrict in Wuxi is reputed as the "hometown of waxberries in China" and has a dozen high-quality waxberry varieties. Entering June, Mashan is blanketed with ripe waxberries.

With snowy-white pulp, the Cuiguan pear is also called Liuyuexue, or "snow in June" as it ripens at this time of year. Wuxi natives are always anxious to buy some as the refreshing and juicy fruit is the second choice after only watermelons to cool off in summer.

Wuxi residents can also enjoy other locally grown fruits such as mulberries, Dafu plums, grapes, cherries, and watermelons.
