Yuri Sarabayev, mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, recently sent holiday wishes to Wuxi through a short video in celebration of the upcoming Spring Festival.
Nizhny Novgorod, the fifth-largest city in Russia, is an important economic, transportation, scientific, educational, and cultural center in the country. The city has maintained friendly exchanges with Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province since 2014.
In 2020, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the two cities kept in touch with each other via the internet with paintings and videos under the theme of fighting against the pandemic, with exhibitions displaying the intangible cultural heritages of Wuxi, such as purple clay art and Wuxi Embroidery.
