A total of 331 Wuxi enterprises participating in the 127th session of the China Import and Export Fair, the first online fair in its 63-year history, have been actively promoting themselves through livestreams.
The participants are from a variety of industries such as large mechanical equipment, motorcycles, electric vehicles, chemical products, hardware tools, household items, and textiles and clothing.
Making full use of technologies including the internet, big data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, this year's Canton Fair demonstrated an innovative method of cooperation for foreign and domestic companies and helped enterprises seek out opportunities.
Jiangyin-based garment giant Hodo Group set up a livestreaming room to introduce their latest products to buyers from home and abroad. According to organizers, foreign buyers can register for the 24-hour livestreaming platform and start purchase negotiations at any time during the exhibition period, as all companies have been exempted from paying exhibition fees in order to bolster international trade and produce win-win results.
Yang Nan, chairman of Wuxi Jinmao Foreign Trade Co, said the company will host 50 livestreams selling different products during the 10-day expo. "We are aiming to let buyers learn more about us through the online expo and build up relationships," Yang noted.
The Canton Fair has been held every spring and autumn in Guangzhou, capital of southern China's Guangdong province, since its founding in 1957, and is seen as a barometer of China's foreign trade.
