Wuxi Customs has been working to optimize online services in order to limit the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the city's economy.

In an attempt to complete its new Wuxi integrated circuit research, development and manufacturing center, Shanghai-based Huahong Group continued to operate over the Spring Festival.

However, the company's experienced a shortage of raw materials due to the virus outbreak, as they were unable to file the prerequisite tax concessions.

Thanks to the online services provided by Wuxi Customs, Huahong was able to complete the necessary procedures and obtain the materials even faster than usual, said a manager surnamed Chen from the company's customs affairs department.

The applicant can submit their application forms and attached documents to customs through the China International Trade Single Window. Relevant supplementary materials can also be sent by email to Wuxi Customs.

"I felt responsible for helping enterprises to reopen smoothly," said an employee at Wuxi Customs.

Wuxi Customs processed 257 tax concession application from Feb 3 to 17, according to officials.
