New energy vehicle drivers have long been disturbed by issues relating to short battery life and inefficient charging, problems which have restricted the development of new energy vehicles.
Now, Jiangsu NESC Science and Technology Co, a Wuxi-based company specializing in battery products, has come up with a breakthrough solution, applying space technology and grapheme materials to batteries to produce the grapheme battery.
The grapheme battery, able to fully charge electric vehicles in 800 seconds, has attracted great public attention. According to NESC's president, Yao Xiaoqing, each battery features five performance parameters, including energy density, power density, temperature, cycle life and security. Successful battery research requires improvement of all five parameters.
The company's "super battery", based on grapheme-polymer technology, highlights a breakthrough in electric capacity, performance and service life. "The ability to fully charge electric vehicles in 10-15 minutes and do so over 1,500 times through cycling fast charging will help solve fundamental problems for new energy vehicles," Yao said.

NESC hit the market quickly by cooperating with various delivery companies and take-away platforms. More than 100,000 units of batteries have been installed in the electric bicycles of delivery staff. Meanwhile, the company launched a mobile APP that displays the service condition of each battery and charging station in multiple cities.
Wuxi is one of the country's largest production bases for electric vehicles and also the weathervane for trends in the electric vehicle industry. "Wuxi boasts a large electric vehicle industry, but lacks battery producers," Yao said, adding that NESC will strive to improve production capability and optimize Wuxi's electric vehicle industrial chain.
