The 2018 Symposium on Economy and Trade Cooperation of Jiangyin, with the theme of "further reform and opening up, and high-quality development", was held in Jiangyin city, Wuxi, on Oct 25.
Agreements on 97 projects from home and abroad worth 104 billion yuan ($15 billion) were signed for settlement in Jiangyin. They included ventures in chip manufacturing, integrated circuits, biomedicine, and cultural and creative tourism.
According to Chen Jinhu, Party secretary of Jiangyin, the city has a favorable transport environment including an extensive expressway network, the widespread Yangtze River Bridge and convenient foreign trade ports, which paves the way for investments in Jiangyin.

Jiangyin focuses on building a modern industrial system integrating the development of advanced manufacturing and the modern service industry, and aims to strengthen its independent innovation and global competitiveness.
Chen revealed that Jiangyin intends to build a 42.2-kilometer-long greenway and an 83-square-kilometer forest park around its urban area. The projects will make Jiangyin more livable and suitable for business and tourism.
