The Swedish industrial equipment manufacturer Atlas Copco Group has begun construction on a new production and research and development base in Wuxi National Hi-tech District, as the company looks to further expand its business in Wuxi, Jiangsu province.
The new center will be operated by Atlas Copco's wholly-owned subsidiary, Pan-Asia Air Technology Co, which the company set up in 2015 with registered capital of $100 million.
Pan-Asia Air will use the new facility to develop and manufacture advanced industrial air equipment.
Atlas Copco Group is a world-leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions, engaged in developing and producing innovative compressors, vacuum solutions and air treatment systems, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems.
The group established its first production center in Wuxi, Atlas Copco Wuxi Compressor, in 1994. This subsidiary specializes in developing and manufacturing Atlas Copco's portable diesel and electric-driven compressors and generators, lighting towers and small- to medium-sized industrial air and oil-free compressors for the global market.
