Finisar, a global technology leader in optical communications, is expected to increase investment in its subsidiary based in Wuxi, Jiangsu province.
Wang Quan, mayor of the Wuxi municipal government, met with the president of Finisar, Jerry S. Rawls on Nov 8.
Wang Quan said, Finisar's Wuxi subsidiary has continued to run well since it was first founded, and has grown into Finisar's largest overseas innovation center and manufacturing base. Currently, Wuxi is actively pushing forward with transformational industrial upgrades, and is willing to deepen cooperation with advanced manufacturing enterprises like Finisar.
He also hopes Finisar can further increase investment in Wuxi, bringing in more high-profile research staff. He pledged that the Wuxi government will continue to provide Finisar with high-quality services.
Jerry S. Rawls attributed the rapid development of Finisar’s Wuxi subsidiary to the highly efficient services from the local government, and he had full confidence in the company’s future development.
Currently, Finisar's Wuxi company staffs about 6,000 workers. Finisar has recently launched its third construction project worth $ 45 million. After it is finished, it is projected to generate an annual revenue of more than $ 700 million.
