The launching ceremony of a charity fund named "Happiness" took place in the Wuxi High-Tech Zone on Aug 18. The charity foundation has been established by a South Korean enterprise, SK Hynix, Wuxi Daily reported.
The mayor of Wuxi, Wang Quan, and the president of SK Hynix, Park Sung Wook, both attended the ceremony, celebrating the setup of the first charity foundation founded by a foreign enterprise in Wuxi.

He said that SK Hynix is not only a world-famous manufacturer of semi-conductors, but also a good example of successful investment in Wuxi by South Korean businesses. He emphasized that the setup of the charity fund means that SK Hynix has established deep roots in Wuxi and is now assisting with the responsibility of public welfare.
Park Sung Wook outlined a blueprint for the new charity. He said that SK Hynix plans to donate 5.5 million yuan ($ 828,000) to the Happiness charity every year.
