The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced the setting up of an intelligent manufacturing (industrial robots) experts committee in Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND) on July 5, according to Wuxi Daily.
The "Changfeng Plan" is an expert support system initiated by MIIT and local governments for the purpose of promoting new industrialization with policy analysis, expert augmentation and enterprise communications.
The intelligent manufacturing experts committee is the plan's first committee for talent cultivation for new industrialization in China.
Lin Enxue, director of the Changfeng Plan, said that the committee settled in Wuxi because of the city’s competitive industries and talents.
In November 2015, the plan set up Yangtze River Delta 3-D printing innovation entrepreneurship center in WND. Lin said, "We hope to promote Yangtze River Delta's manufacturing transformation and facilitate the development of intelligent manufacturing in Wuxi, and even national wide." adding that Wuxi can expect to have more expert committees in future, on areas such as big data, integrated circuits and medicine.
At the launch ceremony, MIIT gave a letter of appointment to Klaus Schilling, dean of the robotics and telematics school at the University of Wurzburg in Germany. Schilling signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Wuxi Supervision Science and Technology Co., Ltd at the end of 2015 and set up Wuxi Supervision Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. several months later.
Schilling said that China and Germany have a common development strategy for industry 4.0 and intelligent manufacturing. He said the two sides will have more opportunities for cooperation in industrial manufacturing, especially hardware development in the future. He added that Wuxi Supervision Intelligent Equipment Co will introduce the most advanced technologies to Wuxi and launch an online education platform and offline training center for talent cultivation in the intelligent manufacturing industry.
