Wuxi college students took time out from their studies recently to find out a bit more about their after education prospects, at a local job fair on Feb 19.
The main focus of the fair was to encourage young local graduates to seek out employment in their hometown or to harness their entrepreneurial skills and start up their own business in the city.
Nearly 60 junior and senior students took part in the fair, where many internship opportunities were on offer from Wuxi-based enterprises.
According to the education commission, about 50 percent of Wuxi college graduates return to the city for work every year. Apart from the existing policies, the city is taking steps to provide professional career assessment and organize tailored job fairs to attract native graduates to return in the city.
During recent years, the Wuxi government has been actively advocating the need for acquiring local talent by cooperating with enterprises, universities, research institutions. The fair serves as a platform to establish ties with universities and entice talented graduates, said the event organizer.
