Wuxi Turbine Blade Co. recently signed a contract with Rolls-Royce, the world's second-largest maker of aircraft engines, to supply spindles and castings for its new aero-engine XWB97K for ten years, reported the Wuxi Daily.
The Wuxi company won the order as a result of its advanced know-how and reliable quality control standards – it is the first supplier of spindles and castings to an international aviation giant in the country.
Rolls-Royce's two sectors have also recognized Wuxi's turbine blade maker as a strategic supplier in the Asian-Pacific region.
Wuxi Turbine Blade Co. is a specialized manufacturer of turbine blades for power stations, industrial turbines, gas turbines and large power generators.
It has the capability of producing 50,000 turbine blades each year and supplies over 80 percent of the large size turbine blades in the domestic market.
In addition, the Wuxi company has more than 30 years’ experience in producing precision castings made of stainless steel, aluminum alloy and super alloy.
Its castings are widely used in the petrol-chemical, textile, and ship building industries, as well as in power stations. They are exported to the USA, Germany, Singapore and Taiwan.
