Taicang welcomed a surge in visitors and consumer activity during the May Day holiday, with 17 major tourist attractions across the city receiving a combined 1 million visits, up 5.94 percent year-on-year.

Liuhe Ancient Town emerged as one of the most popular destinations. The town received more than 320,000 visits and generated over 46.22 million yuan ($6.79 million) in consumption. Intangible cultural heritage street parades and live performances attracted large crowds and created a lively festive atmosphere.

At the Alps Resort, a series of themed activities added to the holiday excitement. Coffee art markets and fireworks shows drew crowds, while newly launched promotions helped boost both visitor numbers and spending.
