In an effort to boost regional educational resources and services, several primary schools at Taicang's Shaxi town are undergoing renovation.

The renovation of Shaxi No 3 Primary School is progressing smoothly. With a total investment of approximately 40 million yuan ($5.65 million), the project focuses on building a new comprehensive building with supporting facilities. 

The main structure is on track for inspection by late November. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by September 2026, providing students with an enhanced educational environment.

The rainwater-sewage diversion renovation at Guizhuang Primary School is also advancing steadily, with 60 percent of the work already completed and full completion anticipated by year's end. It involves installing 370 meters of pipelines, building 19 sewage wells, and constructing one grease trap.

This year, Shaxi town has also carried out maintenance and upgrades on more than 10 public primary schools, middle schools, and kindergartens within its jurisdiction, further improving campus infrastructure and safety standards.
