Auto exports of Taicang Port up 70% YoY in Q1-3
Taicang Port saw its auto exports surge approximately 70 percent year-on-year to nearly 600,000 units in the first three quarters of this year, breaking the total volume of last year and delivering cars made in China to 162 countries and regions.
The port officially began operating the Haitong Taicang Auto Terminal on Dec 12, 2024. Since then, it has become the largest automobile roll-on/roll-off terminal along the Yangtze River. With its advantageous location and comprehensive supporting facilities, the terminal has rapidly grown as an important hub for domestic automobile exports. In the first nine months of this year, it exported a total of 507,000 vehicles.
Additionally, Taicang Port has been a cherished export port among numerous auto makers and logistics providers thanks to its seamless road-rail-water connectivity, cost-efficient water transport along the Yangtze River, and bulk capacity of rail freight. As of September, the port's dedicated rail spur had handled around 122,000 vehicles, up 64 percent year-on-year.
