The 12th China-German Economic Dialogue recently took place in Taicang, a county-level city of Suzhou, Jiangsu province, bringing together representatives from the two countries to explore the vast potential of Sino-German economic cooperation.

Ke Zhizhong, director of China Economic Cooperation Center, pointed out that both nations should further strengthen unity and coordination to uphold the multilateral free trade system and deepen pragmatic cooperation to improve the healthy relations between China and German and between China and Europe.

Christoph Ahlhaus, president of Der Mittelstand BVMW e.V., Rudolf Scharping, chairman of Rudolf Scharping Strategie Beratung Kommunikation GmbH, and Xi Jianan, CEO of German Centre Shanghai, all delivered speeches, expressing that in this era full of changes, only when all countries develop mutual respect, deepen exchanges, and enhance trust can they better work to address global challenges and create a better future together.

Since 2014, the China-German Economic Dialogue has been hosted for 12 renditions in China and Germany, respectively. Over more than 10 years, it has been an important platform for pragmatic cooperation between the political and business sectors of both countries.
